AirHelp is the world's largest organization dedicated to helping passengers with travel disruptions.

Working under EU regulations and international laws, AirHelp assists passengers in obtaining compensation for flight disruptions such as delays, cancellations, and overbooking.

For an upcoming European campaign, the creative team at AirHelp asked us for an ownable look—something new that would distinguish them from their competitors and make them stand out in an increasingly crowded market.

An ownable look, scalable creative, and a relatable campaign.

An all-too-familiar scene

From the start, the team was in agreement about the scene we wanted: a chaotic and crowded airport gate, short on space, and overflowing with tired and cranky travelers.

During design explorations, we leaned into a hybrid vector & raster style, and collected a texture library for carpets, seats, fabrics, and architectural and outdoor elements. We leaned into a muted color palette and pushed the visuals to be playfully gloomy.

We populated our scene with a host of characters—a business traveler late for a meeting, a misbehaving child, a backpacker flying standby, a couple returning home after a family trip.

Many people are not aware that the law is on their side or even that passenger rights exist. In fact, 85% of air passengers do not know their rights.

Creative that can scale with the brand

Our primary objectives were twofold:

  • design a distinctive look and deliver TV creative for the upcoming campaign

  • create work that is modular and scalable so future creative—social, internal, TV, print—can be derived from existing assets

In addition to TV spots—localized to several European languages and markets—we also created social media cutdowns of various lengths and formats, static art, and a comprehensive style guide, allowing the creative team to adapt the creative for evolving needs.

Modular TV creative in several languages, cutdowns for social media, and a comprehensive style guide.
